During anxiety, the mind is in chaos, just stressing out, not knowing what to do with yourself. To relieve ourselves of that thought, we try to calm our minds by focusing on the solution, the positive aspects of the situation, or simply our lives in general.
Although temporary, we often find solutions to help relieve an anxious mind through art, specifically when creating it. In my case, drawing repetitive patterns such as circles and dots helps me escape anxious thoughts and focus on the moment, not thinking about anything else.
Through illustrated art books showcasing the process of anxiety and mindful zines where you can draw out your feelings, Calm Chaos explores the therapeutic benefits of the process of drawing, especially repetitive shapes and patterns, which help move the mind from a state of anxious, scattered energy into a calm, focused, and meditative state.
